MOVIE NIGHT

Date: May 11
Time: 7pm
Movie: Straight Story
Food: Desserts
In 1999, The Straight Story received high praises from critics and audiences alike. The film is based on the true story of Alvin Straight, a 73-year-old man who traveled 300 miles across Iowa to see his estranged and now ailing brother — driving a lawn mower!
The Straight Story will be shown at the home of Cheryl & Bob Richardson on Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m. as part of the FPC Movie Nights sponsored by the Member Connections Ministry.
Viewers learn a lot about the human spirit through Alvin’s encounters with a variety of strangers during his travels. Alvin is a pilgrim, and his week-long journey becomes a time of healing and remembrance.
Following the movie, Henry Brinton will lead a discussion about this very special film. Dessert will also be served!
If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Mary Ann Campbell by Monday, May 7 at 703-273-5300.
