Focus On: The Instrumental  Ensemble

       This month our music focus is on the Instrumental Ensemble, directed by Kenneth Martin. We have a very exciting group of instrumentalists from all four segments of the traditional orchestra – strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. It is unusual for a church like ours to have such a full balance of instruments. The Instrumental Ensemble also has the distinction of being the only intergenerational group in our music program, because it includes both adult and youth players. Sometimes smaller groups from the Ensemble play in worship (such as the Brass Quintet on April 13). And the full group sounds better each time it plays! Did you hear them on March 30? They were superb! Recently we have worked with 16 members, but we have several additional prospects who may join us soon. Here is a list of the current members and their instruments:

Do you play an orchestra or band instrument? We would love to have you join us! We rehearse as needed on Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. (usually about twice a month) and play in worship approximately once a month. Contact Dr. Martin for further information.
