ANNOUNCEMENTS
Fred Bock (12939-1998) was a composer, editor, organist, pianist, and for more than three decades a Presbyterian minister of music. His solo "Take, Eat" is a setting of the Words of Institution for the Lord's Supper as found in Matt. 26:26-28. Today we sing our Focus Hymn for the Easter Season as the opening hymn. Mary Jackson Cathey, author of the text, is an elder at National Presbyterian Church in Washington and a graduate of PSCE.
Chapel Choir meets today at 4:30 and they are preparing for their participation in Abendmusik on April 20th. It's not too late to come and learn the music for this wonderful choral event. Contact Donna Whited

Youth Sunday, both services, on April 13. We are rehearsing this Sunday, April 6, from 7-8:30pm, as well as Saturday, April 12, from 3:00-5:00pm. A student does not have to participate in the 30 hour famine weekend to be a part of youth Sunday, and all are welcome to participate in any part of our weekend together. Youth Sunday is a chance for our youth community to lead worship as a group. We would like all to participate!
Abendmusik is just two weeks away! The concert will be Sunday, April 20, at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary and will feature music by the Chapel Choir and by the Sanctuary Choir. The major portion of the program will be a performance of ten choruses from Parts II and III of Handel's Messiah. This music is from the portions of Messiah that we usually do not hear at Christmas! You will not want to miss this inspiring concert by 45 voices, organ, and orchestra. And be sure to invite friends, family, and neighbors to come with you! Admission is free, but an offering will be taken to support the music program of FPC.
Chapel Choir is planning a field trip on Sunday, April 27th to hear The Children's Chorus of Washington in a benefit concert at The Old Presbyterian Meetinghouse in Alexandria. The concert is free and open to the public with proceeds from the free-will offering going to support the United Orphanage and Academy in Moi's Bridge, Kenya. The concert begins at 3:00 pm and all are invited to go with us. Contact Donna Whited for more information (DonnaKayWhited@aol.com).
