Please contact the music office if you have an interest or a question regarding one or more of these music groups. Growing up With Music at FPC Music can play a significant role in the shaping of our lives, especially in early childhood. How we feel, how we respond and how we express ourselves throughout our lifetime can be positively affected by our early exposure and experiences in music. So it’s the desire of those in ministry for our children to give them the best opportunities we can provide to develop in this wonderful gift from God. Sundays, Twice a month from 7 to 8 pm. Instrumental Ensemble, an orchestral ensemble for adults and youth who can play woodwind, brass, string, or percussion instruments at least at an advanced beginner level; meets Sunday evenings, approximately twice a month, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Chapel Choir – Grade 2-5 Chapel Choir Hymn of the Month For centuries Christians have been praising God, thanking God and sharing what they know about God through music. Nearly 2000 years ago the apostle Paul said, “…be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs; singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart.” (Ephesians 5:18-19) This year they learned a hymn every month in Chapel Choir. The challenge for Chapel Choir members was to learn one verse of the “hymn of the month” by heart and sing it for their director. There were nine hymns for this choir this year. By singing one verse without errors each month, at the end of the year you they learned 9 hymns and earned their own hymnal! Hymnals were awarded to the following Chapel Choir members: Lauren Berman, Stephanie Dugan, Mary Potts, Monica Thapa, Serena Thapa and Andy Zimmerman.
