VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

WORSHIP MINISTRY

Communion Teams This team ensures that the elements required for the Sacrament of Communion are prepared for the congregation.  Team members are responsible for preparation and clean up. 

Flower Team Members of the congregation donate flowers for display in the sanctuary.  Arrangements honor loved ones or celebrate special occasions.  The Flower Team coordinates these efforts on behalf of the congregation and in conjunction with church staff.  For special occasions or seasons, team members select flowers and help prepare them for display in the sanctuary.

MUSIC MINISTRY provides numerous opportunities for service and participation in vocal choirs, English hand bells or the Instrumental Ensemble.  Music is an integral part of every worship service and enriches the special events celebrated annually. 

USHER TEAMS This team coordinates Sunday morning needs for staff, members and visitors.  Often the first to greet attendees, the ushers distribute bulletins and assist worshipers to their seats.  During the service they collect the offering and prayer cards.  The team is available to assist and respond during the worship hour.  After the service, the team straightens and restores the pew racks in preparation for the next service. Two teams each for each service alternate, a month on and a month off for each usher, with your choice of the early or the late service. We are especially in need of new ushers on the early service teams. If you are interested in helping, talk to one of the team chiefs, listed periodically in the bulletin, or contact Bill Staples.

SANCTUARY SET-UP TEAM This team provides behind the scene set up of the sanctuary.  Pew rack contents, Bible placement, attendance pads and pencils are checked on a regular basis.  Special banners and parapets are changed seasonally with minimal time and effort. Service can be fulfilled during the week with minimal effort and flexible scheduling

WORSHIP BAG TEAMS Children are welcome to worship at all services as a part of the congregation.  To encourage their attendance, the Worship Ministry provides bags of quiet activities for use by the children during the service.  Volunteers are needed to replenish the bags on a weekly basis with supplies provided by the church staff. Volunteer service can be done during the week with minimal effort and flexible scheduling.

SPECIAL SERVICES The church supports a variety of special church wide events during the year.  Among them:
