Worship at Fairfax Presbyterian Church, Fairfax Virginia

Encounter! worship continues throughout the summer at 9:30 a.m. on the fourth Sunday of each month beginning in June. “Come just as you are” for meaningful worship in a casual setting. Bring friends, family and neighbors to encounter the God of Wonder who loves us forever.

Encounter worship invites the unexpected – from a gentle reminder of God’s presence; a walk to the cross to offer written prayers and remembrances; an unplanned unity of voices lifting prayers and music to the glory of God.

The Encounter Music Team will lead the worship services on the fourth Sunday of each month beginning in June. Rehearsals for this group will be on Sundays, early in the evening, for our intergenerational singers and instrumentalists. Please read the bulletin announcements for rehearsal specifics. By the way, all ages are invited to participate in music, liturgical drama and art, and message. If you journal, write free prose or compose drama or music, the Encounter! worship team welcomes your contributions for consideration as they plan for the year. Please check the worship themes and consider sharing your creativity with us. If you feel called to a leadership role in our 4th Sunday worship services in the fellowship hall at 8:45 a.m. The group is intergenerational, serving ages ranging from 14 to those who are over, well let’s say 55ish! Anyone who has a passion to participate in worship leadership in any way, from sound to singing, is welcome to come. DID YOU KNOW . . . that Nancy Stevens and I encountered each other at Providence Presbyterian Church in Hilton Head, South Carolina? I was part of a praise team that led worship for a Wednesday night Prayer and Praise service. I was also a substitute organist at the church and encountered Nancy giving the children’s message on Sunday mornings. While we never had the opportunity to meet each other while in Hilton Head, we both believe God’s hand was evident in bringing us together at FPC!
